Record of Buddhistic Kingdoms is written by Fa-Hien. This book is translated and annotated by James Legge. Fa-Hien was an Eastern dynasty Chinese monk.
In 399, he set off from China for India, arriving after a six-year journey. In 414, he returned to China by sea after studying Sanskrit and acquired many Sanskrit books from Tripitaka. This text is an account of Fa-search Hien's for Buddhist Books of Discipline in India and Ceylon. James Legge translated and commented on the Chinese text with a Corean recension.
