The indigenous source is derived directly from the people's thoughts and inspiration, whereas the foreign source is derived from the country's cultural interactions with other great civilized nations such as India and China. It mostly concerns with faiths such as Buddhism, as well as the cultural and creative relationships with India and other nations, in the sphere of art. Thai art was shaped by religion, which shaped the nation's ideals and outlook on life.
