Arahattamagga, Arahattaphala: The Path to Arahantship is written by Acariya Maha Boowa and translated by Bhikkhu Silaratano. The words of the Buddha are currently all that remains of Buddhism. Only the texts, which are his teachings, remain.
This is something you should be aware of. True spiritual concepts are no longer practiced in modern-day Buddhism because of the contamination created by the kilesas' defiling character. As Buddhists, we allow our thoughts to be agitated and confused all of the time, engulfed in mental defilements from all sides. They have such a strong hold on our brains that no matter how hard we try, we will never be able to overcome these contaminating influences. The vast majority of people aren't even willing to try: they simply close their eyes and let the bombardment consume them. They make no attempt to resist.
